Introducing Team Pickleball: Our Journey and Vision
Hey everyone,
We are Blake and Melanie, and we are thrilled to launch a new series of interviews and behind-the-scenes chats, that we're tentatively calling Team Pickleball Talks. Our goal is to share our story, introduce our brand, and connect with the pickleball community. In our first video, we discussed who we are, why we started Team Pickleball, and our vision for the future.
Our Story
We have a background in video and photography and a passion for creative work, and have always loved starting new ventures. We initially got into pickleball thanks to Melanie's parents, who play every day. Their enthusiasm, and our lack of skill, inspired us to improve our game and dive deeper into the sport.
Why Pickleball?
We've worked with companies focused on sustainability, particularly those using recycled materials. This background, with our love for pickleball, sparked the idea of creating eco-friendly pickleball gear. The sport's reliance on plastic balls and gear made us realize the need for sustainable options, and we saw an opportunity to make a difference.
Protect Our Play ™ Initiative
Team Pickleball is built around our Protect Our Play™ initiative, which emphasizes three core principles: sustainability, wellness, and innovation. We believe in the power of play to foster community, improve mental and physical wellness, and bring joy to people's lives. Our mission is to create high-quality, eco-friendly pickleball gear that reduces environmental impact while enhancing the play experience.
Our First Products
We're excited to introduce our first products: the RePlay Pickleball Bag and RePlay Pickleball Backpack. Designed for both on and off the court, these bags are made from durable, recycled fabric. Our focus is on creating versatile gear that you can use in everyday life, not just while playing pickleball.
